Digital Collection Manager

Digital archivists play a vital role in preserving and managing digital collections. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Digital Archivist at RMIT University Archives.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will work under supervision to manage and preserve hybrid and born-digital collections, ensuring their long-term accessibility and usability.
- Key responsibilities include appraising, arranging, and describing digital collections in archival content management systems, exploring preservation requirements for pre-ingest environments, and developing ingest workflows and procedures.
- The candidate will also investigate solutions for legacy file formats, structure digital collections for ingest, collaborate with colleagues on acquisition and ingest processes, and ensure digital material is handled according to regulatory requirements and standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in archives, records management, library science, information technology, or a related field;
- Proven experience working with digital collections and archives;
- Strong knowledge of archival principles and practices;
- Familiarity with content management systems and digital preservation tools;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
