Academic Opportunity in Molecular and Protein Biology
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Researcher to join our team in the School of Biological Sciences.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to our dynamic research program, focusing on molecular and/or protein biology applied to the study of proteins used by single-celled parasites.
You will be responsible for delivering teaching in microbiology/parasitology, zoonotic diseases, and biotechnology, and introducing innovative approaches to teaching at all undergraduate levels.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to supervise Honours, Masters, and PhD students, and contribute to the establishment of new capabilities and research streams within the School.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent degree in Biological/Biomedical Sciences with a focus on molecular and/or protein biology.
- Demonstrated research excellence and knowledge in molecular and/or protein biology, with a relevant publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- For Level A, potential to contribute positively to and/or obtain external funding as a co/lead investigator, and potential to contribute to molecular and/or protein biology teaching in microbiology/parasitology at undergraduate level.
- For Level B, demonstrated success in contributing to or obtaining external funding as a co/lead investigator, and demonstrated teaching experience in parasite molecular and/or protein biology at undergraduate level.
- Experience in the supervision of Honours, Masters, and/or PhD level students.
