Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled engineering professional to join our team in shaping the future of our municipality through expert advice and innovative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing development and subdivision applications to provide recommendations.
  • Preparing technical reports on engineering matters related to applications and construction certificates.
  • Reviewing and monitoring stormwater, traffic, subdivision and civil works projects.
  • Providing guidance on Development Control Plans.
  • Supporting Council in Land and Environment Court hearings as an expert witness.
  • Delivering high quality technical advice to the public.
  • Maintaining compliance with environmental legislation, policies and best-practice principles.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in development engineering.
  • Solid understanding of development assessment processes including stormwater management, traffic and civil/subdivision works.
  • Knowledge of local government and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A valid Class C driver's licence.
