About the Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to kick-start your rail career with Queensland Rail, an expanding busy team that continues to grow. As a Trackworker, you will be responsible for performing heavy manual labor activities including replacing railway sleepers, general laboring duties and various other railway track maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out laboring duties ensuring track safety is maintained and other duties as directed by the supervisor when required
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently
  • Travel and perform outdoor work throughout the region, often in challenging weather conditions and high temperatures, working a 9-day fortnight which may consist of 7 days and 2 nights
  • You will be rostered on to work every 2nd weekend and rostered off the other weekend
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a current 'C' class driver's license, have recent experience in a manual handling or physical laboring role, and possess a hard-working nature and a positive 'can do' attitude. Additionally, you must have a strong commitment to safety, flexibility to work and travel across the district and work weekends, and ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team.
