Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Childcare Cook to join our team at Sparrow Early Learning. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in planning and preparing nutritious meals for our children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of menu options that cater to the dietary needs of our children.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Handle, store, label, and rotate food products properly.
  • Cook and prepare meals using various kitchen equipment.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure sufficient stock is available.
  • Close the kitchen properly at the end of each service period.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified chef with experience in childcare cooking.
  • Food Handling Certificate and Food Supervisor Certificate.
  • Previous experience as a Childcare Cook.
  • Certificate III in Cookery.
  • Current & Valid Working with Children Check.
  • First Aid and CPR certificates including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
  • Experience in menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control.
  • Experience in dietary and allergy-safe requirements.
