Electrical Commissioning Specialist for Energy Storage Systems

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Commissioning Specialist to join our team in Wacol. As a key member of our Power Generation and Renewable Systems team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful commissioning and testing of our Energy Solutions products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and complete various jobs on Energy Solutions products, including directing sub-contractors.
  • Assemble, factory-test, diagnose, repair, install, commission, and service our Energy Solutions products, particularly Battery Energy Storage Systems, as well as large Diesel and Gas Generators and Rotary UPS, including their control and auxiliary systems.
  • Work closely with customers, consultants, partners, and internal teams to ensure we deliver to the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), complete commissioning and test documentation to ensure smooth handovers.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualification – Cert III in Electrotechnology and Full Electrical Licence.
  • Prior experience with electrical diagnostics, fault-finding, modifications, and the installation and commissioning of complex mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Sound knowledge of power- and auxiliary systems, controls, instrumentation, and switchgear. Experience with microgrids, renewable energy, or storage systems is a plus.
  • A background in Power Generation applications is preferred, however, training is available for the right candidate.
  • Easily work independently, but just as happy working in a team.
  • Have effective communication and teamwork skills, and actively promote Penske's values and purpose.
