Water Metering Professional

We are seeking an experienced Water Metering Professional to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to contribute your skills and experience in water meter supply, installation, and maintenance. You will work closely with other areas of the business and external partners to deliver project outcomes.

About the Role
  • Develop and operationalise strategy for water meter supply, installation, and maintenance on customer properties.
  • Contribute to development of business cases for full rollout of smart meters.
  • Lead technical initiatives, conduct metrological testing, and ensure compliance with National Measurement Act.

You will be responsible for devising and implementing systems and processes to maximise the efficiency and value potential of the metering fleet, carrying out metrological tests of water meters, and staying updated with the latest advancements in water metering technology and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support us in understanding foundational and emerging technologies and practices in metrology, smart metering, and IoT.
  • Lead the development of our metrology program for compliance and performance.
  • Collaborate with other areas of the business and external partners to deliver project outcomes.
  • Devise and implement systems and processes to maximise the efficiency and value potential of the metering fleet.
  • Carry out metrological tests of water meters.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in water metering technology and industry regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation related to water metering projects.
About You
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, mechatronics, electronics, ICT, project management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects and delivering on targets.
  • Hands-on experience with water metering systems and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations related to water metering.
