**Job Description**

We're seeking a seasoned Director of Software Development and Innovation to lead and evolve our engineering teams, ensuring best-in-class software development and delivering rapid product innovation.

This critical role will be a hands-on leader responsible for driving technical strategy, scaling engineering teams, and delivering high-impact solutions across frontend, backend, and mobile platforms.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team across multiple disciplines (frontend, backend, DevOps, mobile).
  • Drive technical strategy in collaboration with the VP Technology, Head of Product, Hardware, and Data Science teams to align engineering priorities with business objectives.
  • Establish and foster an engineering culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Own and optimize engineering processes, development best practices, and team workflows to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Evaluate and implement the latest technologies, particularly in serverless computing, AI integration, and mobile ecosystems.

**Technical Requirements and Expertise:

* Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript, with experience in React and React Native.* Strong AWS experience, particularly Lambda, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, and Terraform.* Hands-on experience with CI/CD (GitLab) and cloud-native architectures.* Experience leading teams through technology transitions and modernizing software stacks.* Strong problem-solving skills with a scalability and security mindset.
