Data Scientist

Townsville City Council is the largest local government authority in Northern Australia. Our organisation provides and maintains close to $9 billion worth of community assets, including water and wastewater network and treatment plants, bridges, drainage, roads, waste management, community facilities, sporting venues, and more.

We are seeking a talented Data Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. As a key member of our team, you will explore the possibilities with Artificial Intelligence, craft data-driven solutions, discover trends, and present data to provide unique insights for decision-making.

You will work collaboratively within the Customer & Digital Services Section and across the Council and community to develop and implement Data and Analytics services that deliver real value. Your work will directly contribute to shaping the future of our city, enhancing the quality of life for our residents, and driving positive change in the community.

• This is a fixed-term position for approximately 4 years until October 2026.
• The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant Information Technology discipline or extensive demonstrated experience.
• LGO6 ($93,992 - $100,333 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
