Job Title: Staff Specialist/Consultant Psychiatrist

Job Summary:

The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Specialist/Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service. As a key member of our Community and Acute Mental Health Service, you will play a critical role in supporting the development, clinical governance, and clinical activity within our service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level clinical leadership, advice, and direction within a multidisciplinary team and to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based clinical management plans for individuals with mental illness.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge, expertise, and skill in the assessment and clinical management of people with mental illness in a specialized mental health service setting.
  • High-level interpersonal, communication, consultation, and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to leading mental health recovery model of care and evidence-based practice.
  • Expert knowledge of National and State Mental Health directions and legislation relevant to the provision of specialist mental health services.
  • Experience in providing effective training to junior medical staff.
