About Therapeutic Carers

We are seeking dedicated individuals who can provide supportive environments for young people in our community. Our goal is to help them learn and grow in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment.

The casual Therapeutic Carer will contribute to the family environment of children/young people, providing them with a stable and caring atmosphere. This role requires building trust and rapport with young people by providing them with trauma-informed care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic care and support to young people across a shift-based roster
  • Transport children/young people to and from school and other activities
  • Engage with young people on an individual and group level
  • Maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in the household
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with daily routines
  • Document case notes and complete necessary paperwork

Requirements:

  • Valid NSW Paid Working with Children Check or ability to obtain one prior to commencement
  • First aid certificate or willingness to obtain within 1 month
  • Covid Vaccination Certificate
  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Relevant qualification (Community Services, Youth/Social Work)
  • Experience working with young people
  • Basic knowledge of trauma and out-of-home-care system
  • Availability for sleepovers
