About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our Mining and Energy Major Projects team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the successful delivery and completion of a heavy haul rail infrastructure project for a tier 1 mining client.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile project, collaborating with talented professionals to drive future-ready outcomes that benefit clients and communities.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring progress and performance against the project plan, taking action to resolve problems and minimize risks and delays. You will also be responsible for monitoring and controlling cost performance against the plan, developing and implementing project controls, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan and take action to resolve problems and minimize risks and delays.
  • Monitor and control cost performance against the plan, and develop and implement project controls, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure work undertaken complies with the scope and meets quality and operational requirements.
  • Prepare schedules for design work and obtain approvals for flow sheets and drawings.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Interface with the client and cultivate positive relations to achieve effective communication and collaboration across teams.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer with a strong background in project engineering and management. You will have a demonstrated understanding of the detailed design engineering process and experience working on rail projects. You will also have strong project management skills and the ability to deliver work within the agreed budget, timeframe, and customer requirements.
