Job Title: Assistant in Nursing (AIN)We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant in Nursing to join our team in a Casual role. As an AIN, you will play a vital role in providing safe and quality patient-centered care under the direction of Registered Nurses or Enrolled Nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the provision of care and support of patients within the scope of Assistant in Nursing practice, professional expertise and recognised competencies;
- Adhere to care plans to contribute to optimal care outcomes in collaboration with members of the clinical team(s);
- Ensure episode of care documentation is in accordance with applicable Mater frameworks, policies, procedures, work instructions, forms and guidelines;
- Contribute to the holistic care of patients by contributing to their overall comfort and wellbeing with regard to their values, customs and spiritual beliefs;
- Accept and adhere to all policies and procedures of Mater and your employment location;
- Undertake other duties/responsibilities as directed by your direct Reporting Authority or other designated authority(s).
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum Certificate III qualification in Individual Support or Health Services Assistance, or be a second-year Bachelor of Nursing student with first clinical placement completed;
- Digital and computer proficiency, extending to Microsoft 365 applications;
- The ability to collaborate effectively with other health professionals at all levels, patients and relatives;
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills;
- Prior comparable experience as an Assistant in Nursing or Personal Care Attendant/Assistant; or be working towards a Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Enrolled Nurse qualification.
