Job Description
We are seeking senior lawyers with extensive experience in financial services law, particularly with a focus on retail banking. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic and practical legal advice, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and play a key role in introducing customer initiatives and outcomes in a safe and customer-focused manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing general banking and financial services advice on banking products, including deposit and transaction accounts and distribution channels;
- Advising on CBA's industry-leading customer recognition and rewards program;
- Negotiating contracts with third-party service providers;
- Identifying opportunities to simplify frameworks, policies, and processes for optimal effectiveness and efficiency;
- Advising on marketing campaigns.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in law and 10+ years of relevant post-admission/qualification experience;
- Ideal candidates will have at least 4 years' experience in private practice and/or in-house experience in another financial institution (ideally in retail);
- Excellent technical legal skills, including the ability to resolve complex issues and grow expertise;
- The capacity to build relationships with stakeholders and communicate complex issues effectively;
- A team-oriented outlook, 'can-do' attitude, integrity, sound judgment, and humility.
