Overview of the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Family Lawyer to join our team based in Melbourne. The successful candidate will have a minimum 3-4 years post-admission experience in family law, with a passion for delivering expert advice and support to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Providing sound verbal and written advice to clients in all areas of family law.
- Assisting clients with family violence intervention order matters and drafting basic wills.
- Proactively communicating with clients and ensuring they receive timely and accurate updates on their cases.
- Accurately preparing court material and appearing in court where required.
- Effectively briefing counsel and representing clients at mediations and court events.
- Following firm procedures relating to billing, administration, and collection of accounts.
- Attending and contributing to firm marketing activities and developing a personal brand as a private family lawyer.
- Maintaining professional accreditation and records, and upholding the firm's values and working collaboratively with the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum 3-4 years post-admission experience in family law; accredited family law specialists encouraged to apply.
- Admittance to practice law in Australia (including Victoria).
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Laws, Master of Laws).
- Passion for family law and excellent communication skills.
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
