About the Role
This is a permanent position that requires the ability to work a 48-week per year schedule. The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Coordinator and work closely with a team of Maintenance Officers. As part of this role, you will be expected to lead by example and promote a positive attitude towards maintenance and WHS.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conducting routine inspections and updating maintenance records.
2. Ensuring tools are in good condition and managing repairs.
3. Maintaining buildings, play areas, and fixtures for safety and functionality.
4. Documenting maintenance for administrative and WHS purposes.
5. Coordinating with contractors to ensure compliance with project obligations.
Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)
As part of this role, you will be required to adhere to safety policies and maintain facilities. This includes providing protective equipment and verifying contractor compliance, assisting with WHS inspections, and participating in safety activities. Your commitment to creating a safe work environment is essential.
Requirements
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with comprehensive technical skills and experience in building and grounds maintenance. You will need to demonstrate your ability to apply skills in construction, maintenance, and repair tasks using precision hand and power tools and equipment. Additionally, you should have knowledge and experience in gardening maintenance, including garden and turf management.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Comprehensive technical skills and experience in building and grounds maintenance.
- Ability to safely and responsibly operate minor plant and equipment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to take initiative and give and take direction effectively.
- Strong organisational skills, including flexibility, prioritising, and calmly responding to challenging situations.
- Leadership and commitment to best practice WHS.
- Understanding of professional boundaries and the need for confidentiality.
