About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Ability Action Australia. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality services to our clients, supporting them to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of clients and provide therapeutic services in their homes or schools
  • Assess clients' emotional, psychological, cognitive, developmental, and physical levels of function and capacity through clinical observations and standardized assessments
  • Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each client
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions
  • Support and advise clients on adaptations to their environment, including home, school, work, and residential facilities
  • Recommend the provision of assistive technology to assist clients with their functional limitations and promote independence
  • Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance
Requirements
  • Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
