We are currently seeking a motivated and friendly Front of House Receptionist to join our dynamic team at Northern Beaches Hospital, providing world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and professional first impression.
  • Answer incoming calls, address inquiries from both patients and their families.
  • Manage patient data and medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with medical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow.
  • Maintain the reception area, ensuring it is clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Assist with general office administration tasks as required.
  • Comply with all privacy regulations and policies.
  • Ensure effective management of all patient admissions and discharges in the inpatient management system.
  • Provide administration support to the nursing staff.

Knowledge, skills and attributes:

  • Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role, ideally in a medical or healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment and provision of exceptional customer service.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficiency with office software and booking system and experience of electronic inpatient management systems such as WebPAS and EMR (experience with any medical software is an advantage).
  • A professional, compassionate, and friendly demeanour.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy laws.
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications including Microsoft Office, Excel and Internet.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Good communication skills and ability to liaise with Bookings and Admission, as well as Theatre reception.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team.
  • A proven professional phone manner.
