As a Business Development Manager (Produce), you will be responsible for growing the produce channel revenue by acquiring new customers and expanding existing relationships within your assigned location. This role requires strategic thinking, customer engagement, and innovative problem-solving skills.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Expanding the Customer Base: Engage with potential clients through cold calling, industry research, and networking at events to understand market trends and customer needs.
  • Managing the Sales Funnel: Utilize Salesforce to track opportunities, review progress monthly, and follow up on leads from partnerships and marketing efforts.
  • Extending the Current Offering: Meet with key decision-makers to understand their requirements and propose solutions highlighting the advantages of CHEP's products.
  • Innovating and Growing: Explore new markets and applications for our products, driving growth through innovative supply chain solutions.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A completed tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Agriculture/Produce or Business (ideally relevant).
  • Solid working history in sales/customer-facing roles, preferably in Fresh Produce.
  • Ability to engage customers to accurately identify business needs/problems to solve.
  • Ability to close deals quickly and effectively with win-win outcomes.
  • Ability to engage with senior decision-makers and business owners, building trusted partnerships.
  • Basic computer literacy – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce.
  • Sound commercial acumen.
  • Ability to articulate the features & benefits of a product and service.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to achieve results.

This exciting opportunity comes with a competitive salary estimated around $80,000-$120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
