**About the Role:**

Lactalis Australia is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist to join our team in Rowville. As an HSE Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, as well as maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage all HSE matters on the site, driving continuous HSE performance improvement while ensuring that all HSE activities are in line with the Site Safety Plan and National Safety Plan.
  • Manage workers' compensation and return-to-work programs for injured employees within the site.
  • Drive safety improvement through initiatives, training, and coaching, as well as initiating, coordinating, and delivering safety training programs leading to safety performance improvement.
  • Assist site teams in investigating all incidents and accidents to ensure they get to the root cause.
  • Support the management of site trade waste compliance.
  • Maintain a strong operational presence across the site, coaching and mentoring team leaders and managers in safety processes.

**Requirements:**

  • Formal qualification in Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Formal training in return-to-work coordination is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven experience in understanding of relevant HSE regulations and standards.
  • Display strong analytical skills to assess data, identify trends, and propose effective solutions.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and oversee HSE policies, procedures, and initiatives. Your insights and guidance will be crucial in fostering a culture of safety consciousness and environmental responsibility.
