
Scientist Laboratory Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic team within the Chemistry Laboratory at Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards campus. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science, with relevant subjects from a recognised tertiary institution.
Key responsibilities include delivering operational laboratory activities, such as scientific and technical training coordination and review of laboratory practices for quality management and compliance with standards and procedures.
The selected individual will have excellent communication skills, report writing abilities, and statistical evaluation expertise. They will also be capable of managing competing priorities, working autonomously and in a team, and applying established principles in a pathology laboratory.
Additional requirements include demonstrated knowledge and experience in patient result review and validation, internal Quality Control, external Quality Assurance, and proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Microsoft Office.
This is a Category A position, requiring applicants to comply with NSW Health Policy Directive PD2024_015 Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases.
