Learning Support Officer

As a Learning Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with classroom teachers, the Learning Diversity Leader, and other Learning Support Staff to ensure effective support for students.
  • Attend designated staff meetings, Program Support Group meetings, and professional development sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies.
  • Contribute to a collaborative education environment by working with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement Personalised Learning Plans.

You will work closely with students to assist their learning through intervention, providing individualised support to help them build skills and confidence. Your knowledge of types of disabilities such as ASD and ADHD, and appropriate strategies to develop personal, social, and independent learning skills will be invaluable in this role.

In addition to your direct work with students, you will also assist with yard duties and various administrative tasks as required. You must have a strong commitment to Child Safety and comply with the school's policies and procedures related to this area.
