Job Title: Small Tools Mechanic

Opt Hire is a leading equipment hire business providing solutions to various industries in Victoria and Queensland. We are seeking an experienced Small Tools Mechanic to join our team based out of our Thomastown Depot.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and mechanically-minded individual to assist the Workshop Manager in ensuring all aspects of equipment maintenance, servicing, and repairs are completed effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for major and minor servicing of tools and equipment, tool and equipment repairs and rebuilds, and providing basic scheduled and unscheduled services to small tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on small tools and equipment
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment over the phone or in person
  • Conduct basic yard duties including cleaning, organizing, and relocating equipment
  • Maintain equipment records electronically or hardcopy
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the supervisor
Requirements:
  • Experience in maintaining plant equipment, small tools, and maintenance around the depot
  • Mechanically-minded with experience in a warehouse and basic welding
  • Ability to follow instructions, communicate at a professional level, and be a team player
  • Physical fitness and ability to pass a pre-employment medical
  • White Card - Construction Industry and ideally a Forklift license
  • Sound knowledge of WHS
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and values in the workplace
  • Able to multitask where needed
