Automation Technician Role
We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our Engineering Department at Shotton Works. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-tech manufacturing environment, using your automation expertise to improve production efficiency, reduce downtime, and contribute to new projects.
- Experience in PLC programming, fault finding, and system optimization within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on expertise with Allen Bradley Control/Compact Logix or Siemens S7 PLCs.
- AC/DC Inverter drives experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of SCADA, HMI development, and industrial communication protocols.
As an Automation Technician, you will play a key role in providing specialist engineering support to our manufacturing production lines. Your responsibilities will include responding to plant breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum. You will also design, modify, and improve plant equipment software, ensuring our automation systems are operating at peak performance.
