Maritime Editor

We are seeking an experienced editor to join our team and contribute to the development of a consistent style across various publications, exhibitions, and websites.

This role plays a key part in supporting our team that enhances the understanding of Australia's maritime environment. The successful candidate will work with teams across the Sea Power Centre-Australia, a blended workforce of ADF and APS personnel, and provide support to visiting researchers from diverse backgrounds.

• Main Responsibilities:
• Review book manuscripts for consistency, editorial style, and academic conventions;
• Evaluate and assist with the development of manuscripts and other material for publication;
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders through oral and written means;
• Support team goals and mentor others to develop their writing abilities;
• Show an understanding of Australia's military and maritime environment and a willingness to learn more about the Navy's role.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• A developed ability to review and edit complex materials;
• Experience in evaluating and assisting with manuscript development;
• Well-developed communication skills with experience in dealing with diverse stakeholders;
• A strong team player with a willingness to mentor others;
• An understanding of Australia's maritime environment and a desire to learn more.
