Transport Supervisor Role

We are seeking a motivated and personable Transport Supervisor to join our team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transport services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Continual improvement in fleet and process performance to achieve best practice in safety, environment, quality, housekeeping, efficiency, and utilization;
  • Fleet availability, scheduling support, and company driver performance management;
  • Providing guidance and direction to the broader transport team regarding vehicle maintenance, repairs, and housekeeping activities;
  • Managing all repairs and maintenance requirements in line with industry standards to ensure safe operating conditions of vehicles while minimizing downtime;
  • Managing suppliers responsible for repairs and maintenance to ensure they meet high-quality standards;
  • Ensuring regular inspections and audits of equipment are carried out on a daily and weekly basis;
  • Developing forward maintenance planning (short-term and long-term);
  • Managing spare parts inventory to ensure appropriate spares are available, with critical spares being regularly reviewed;
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual operational plans; and
  • Maintaining records in line with industry standards.

To succeed in this role, you will require excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as strong leadership abilities. Previous experience in a fleet or maintenance supervision role is essential, along with a valid driver's license.
