Join Our Team as a Fitter and Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Fitter and Machinist to join our team at Central Coast Council. As a key member of our Water and Sewer directorate, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical assets and critical infrastructure across our region.

About the Role
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and reactive repairs to mechanical process equipment in the field, at treatment plants, and within workshops.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot mechanical assets, and apply engineering solutions in consultation with OEM documentation, engineers, and team leaders.
  • Ensure assets reach designed operating life by performing scheduled maintenance and reactive repairs.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent Fitting / Machining, combined with ongoing professional development.
  • Valid Construction General Induction card - NSW WorkCover or equivalent.
  • Current Class MR Drivers Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar mechanical workshop environment, with demonstrated experience in using manual lathes, radial drills, and universal mills.
  • Demonstrated experience in being able to interpret OEM manuals and schematics.
  • Demonstrated experience in pump repair and assembly.
What We Offer
  • A salary range of $69.5k to $83.4k per annum, plus $18.28 weekly allowance and superannuation.
  • A 9 day fortnight work-cycle.
  • The opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative where needed.
