The Australian Financial Review is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Digital Editor to join its digital team at Nine Entertainment.

As a key member of the editorial team, you will be responsible for curating and optimizing content for digital editions, ensuring timely and engaging news for our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curate and optimize content for digital editions
  • Work closely with section editors to plan homepage editions
  • Prepare each edition for publication
  • Post content on social media channels
  • Share best practices for search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Curate and send newsletters to subscribers
  • Write breaking news blog posts and manage the daily live blog

Requirements:

  • Excellent news judgment and ability to make editorial decisions quickly
  • Ability to work collaboratively with editors and journalists to distribute content effectively
  • Passion for breaking news, particularly in business, finance, and politics
  • Ability to attend and contribute to news conferences
  • Passion for digital production and understanding of real-time data to maximize audiences
