Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Metals Fabricator. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fabricating structural components from raw materials, using a variety of tools and equipment.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  1. Reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints for mechanical systems to determine specifications of components and work procedures.

  2. Constructing/fabricating structural components from raw materials using appropriate tools.

  3. Using welding equipment to fuse structural components.

  4. Inspecting fabricated and assembled components to ensure size, clearance, and fit accuracy.

  5. Utilizing power tools and machines to cut structural components as needed.

  6. Creating a suitable maintenance schedule to carry out periodic machine and system maintenance.

  7. Conducting diagnostic testing on malfunctioning systems to determine its root cause.

  8. Replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed.

  9. Ensuring adherence to all work-site safety rules and regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Appropriate trade qualification.

  • Proven post-experience working in the same field.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints for mechanical systems.

  • Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools.

  • Knowledge and experience of using computerised machines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong welding and mechanical skills.

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
