About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Creative Director to lead our global brand campaigns, driving innovation and excellence across all touchpoints. This is a 14-month fixed-term maternity cover contract with potential opportunities for transitioning to permanent for the right fit.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end creative development of global brand initiatives, ensuring each campaign aligns with Canva's mission and resonates across various markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the ideation, development, and execution of Canva's global brand campaigns, ensuring they are innovative, on-brand, and impactful across all channels (TV, digital, social, OOH, experiential, etc.).
  • Define the creative direction for global brand initiatives and contribute to the overarching marketing strategy, collaborating closely with senior leadership, product, and regional marketing teams.
  • Manage and mentor a team of creatives, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality output, professional development, and creative excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, growth, and analytics teams to align brand campaigns with key business goals, user needs, and market opportunities.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of creative leadership experience, with a proven track record of executing large-scale global campaigns, and a strong Design/Art Direction background.
  • Expertise in multi-channel storytelling, with an outstanding portfolio showcasing campaigns across TV, digital, social, and more.
  • Ability to inspire teams to do their best work, combining mentorship, coaching with clear creative direction.
  • Balancing big-picture thinking with attention to detail, while thriving in fast-paced environments, juggling multiple priorities without missing a beat.

Award-winning global campaigns, experience working in SaaS, tech, or a rapidly growing digital platform, and navigating global markets and cultural nuances are highly desirable.
