Position Overview

allnex is seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Management Specialist/Lead to join our team in Wacol, QLD. As a key member of our safety and sustainability team, you will be responsible for driving our safety and sustainability efforts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies, and leading projects aimed at improving our safety and efficiency.

You will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe operational practices and compliance with PSM requirements. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all relevant safety, health, and environmental (SHE) activities are accurately recorded, actioned, and reported through our global digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure PSM compliance by implementing and maintaining effective Process Safety Management practices in accordance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Develop safety procedures and protocols to enhance process safety and mitigate risks.
  • Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on PSM principles, safety practices, and emergency response procedures.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure safe operational practices and compliance with PSM requirements.
  • Participate in audits to assess compliance with PSM standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor safety performance and track key safety metrics.
  • Act as a safety advocate to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to process safety management.
Requirements
  • 1-5 years of experience in Process Safety Management within the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply with related educational background.
  • Strong understanding of PSM regulations, hazard analysis techniques, and safety management systems.
  • Experience with HAZOP concepts.
  • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with safety management software and digital platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
