Our organisation is committed to building strong relationships with local communities. As a Police Liaison Officer, you will play a vital role in developing trust and understanding between the community and our service.

The role involves driving QPS vehicles, and you will be required to hold a Queensland C-Class driver's licence. You will also need to acquire a Driver Licence and wear a police liaison officer uniform while working.

You will contribute to organisational understanding of First Nations cultures and assist police officers in communicating effectively with cultural appropriateness. You will work with members of the local community to identify opportunities for strengthening community engagement and development of QPS crime prevention and early intervention strategies.

Additionally, you will assist First Nations community members in accessing policing services and provide advice to QPS members on referral to other community services as necessary. You will engage positively and proactively with First Nations and multicultural multifaith community groups to identify and build community-based initiatives.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. They will be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
