About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Care Specialist to join our team. As a Disability Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to an 18-year-old male living in his family home at Jimboomba.

The successful candidate will have experience working with individuals with epilepsy and seizures, as well as providing personal care routines, meal preparation, and community access. You will also be responsible for medication administration and morning assistance before school and after-school care shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with personal care routines, including bathing and continence aid changes;
  • Prepare meals following a detailed diet plan;
  • Assist with accessing the community;
  • Administer medication as required;
  • Provide morning assistance before school and after-school care shifts.
Requirements
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module;
  • First Aid Certificate with current CPR yearly update;
  • Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance;
  • NDIS Workers Screening Card (or in the process of obtaining);
  • Active ABN;
  • Smart Phone or Similar Device;
  • Personal Vehicle & Comprehensive Insurance;
  • Experience working within the Disability Sector;
  • Experience working as a Sole Trader/Contractor.

Our Subcontract position offers:

  • Travel reimbursement;
  • Competitive hourly rate: $40.59 - $47.79 per hour.
Additional Information

This is a Shift work position requiring flexibility and reliability. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1 year of independent disability support work experience (preferred);
  • A Full Driver Licence (required);
  • Australia Work Authorisation (required);
  • Availability for day, night, and overnight shifts;
  • Williness to travel up to 25% of the time.
