System Development Opportunity

This position is centered around collaborating closely with scientists to create and enhance innovative systems that support water quality monitoring and decision-making for fresh and marine ecosystems.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance and support of systems such as WaTERS, Work Request Notice Board, Load calculation tool, etc.
  • They will work with the group's scientists to capture and convert scientific approaches and methodologies into software systems.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Undertaking systems analysis and design in relation to enhancements of existing systems is a critical task.
    • Providing advice to scientists in terms of developing technical innovative solutions in a cost-effective manner.
    • Effective, timely, client-focused incident and problem management analysis and resolution for supported systems consistent with Departmental and standards is required.
    • Maintaining application databases which can include generating ad-hoc reports and performing queries to verify data integrity is also essential.
    • Addressing reported vulnerabilities and penetration testing outcomes is a vital task.
    • Delivering high-quality customer service through quality system documentation and industry best practice frameworks, and continually improving delivery methods is a key expectation.
