About the Role

The Category Sourcing Specialist role sits within the Global Technology Procurement team and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of strategic sourcing initiatives within the Technology Professional Services Category at ANZ.

This role will help shape the future of this portfolio across the bank and will drive and deliver commercial value by developing strategic sourcing strategies that are in line with the overall category strategy and aligned to business priorities; delivering value over short, medium and long term horizons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create value by bringing data driven insights, commercial thought leadership, developing adaptive procurement solutions, identifying new sourcing opportunities
  • Helping our business leverage external capability through our technology supplier ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Significant commercial experience in negotiating complex contracting strategies within a Technology and/or professional services context.
  • Understanding of the supply base (national/regional/global) and the competitive forces of the supply market within the Technology Professional Services market.
  • Experience in developing strategic sourcing strategies that deliver commercial value and benefits for the business.
  • Ability to collaborate with the Category Manager to identify gaps and opportunities within the category such as emerging goods/services within the area, size of price/opportunity and feasibility of goods/services, optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in executing end-to-end sourcing process, including setting the sourcing strategy, executing the appropriate due diligence required, conducting market/supplier analysis, price benchmarking and conducting negotiations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external business stakeholders in order to facilitate sourcing outcomes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships, becoming a highly trusted business partner, sourcing manager, commercial and market expert.
  • Ability to influence decision making at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communicator, stakeholder and relationship management capability
  • High level of commercial acumen and strong negotiations skills
  • Understanding supply market dynamics, Third Party Risk and Regulatory requirements, external leading practice, market trends relevant to spend areas
  • Experience in working within the banking industry or similar financial institution.
