Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our project delivery teams in Victoria. This role will play a critical part in managing the design elements of our design and construct infrastructure projects and facilitating relationships with our design partners.
Key Responsibilities- Administer project design management plans and work knowledge of design management principles.
- Coordinate and manage all stages of a project's design from tender to completion, ensuring designs are produced accurately, on time, and within budget.
- Oversee and coordinate all engineering and design aspects of the project, working with designers and the construction team to ensure designs meet project objectives and constructability considerations.
- Take a lead role in problem-solving and challenging design to find innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges during the design and construction phase.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and cost savings during the design phase of the project.
- Champion safety in design to ensure control measures are provided early in the design process to eliminate or minimize risks to health and safety through the lifecycle of the project and infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- Chartered Engineer and RPEV Registered.
- Prior contracting or design consultancy experience in the civil construction industry within a similar position.
- Knowledge of digital engineering platforms such as AutoCAD or 12D is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
This is a long-term employment opportunity with a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects ahead across Australia. You will use your design experience to work closely with our estimating and project delivery teams, and the full-time design coordination function may vary in line with the size, scope, and style of projects delivered.
Working closely with design consultants, you will use your relationship-building and negotiation skills to influence project stakeholders to achieve best-for-project design outcomes for our clients.
