This apprenticeship is an excellent chance to start your career in the horticulture industry and gain valuable experience working outdoors.

  • Maintenance in horticulture includes mowing, weeding, planting, litter removal, weed spraying, mulching, pruning, watering, irrigation repairs, and record keeping.

As a member of the Parks and Gardens team, you will work collaboratively with other team members as required. You will also undertake schooling to complete the four-year apprenticeship.

  • You should be physically fit and self-motivated.
  • You have a passion for working outdoors with interest in variety of work sites, horticultural jobs, and projects.
  • You possess a strong team mentality with an attitude of helping others.
  • You have a can-do attitude, ability to plan and prioritize work, consistently reliability and punctuality, commitment, and dedication to TAFE studies, machinery operating skills are an added advantage, though not required, driver's license preferred.
