A career opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist to join our team. This is an exciting chance to work on diverse projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading project delivery, engaging with clients, and mentoring a high-performing team across field and office-based work. You will have the opportunity to build an advanced ecological technical practice supporting diverse projects and our clients' biggest challenges.

  • Manage technical teams to deliver field investigations, impact assessment and mitigation design
  • Responsible for outstanding client service through risk-based strategic advice and high-quality technical reporting
  • Implement efficiencies and digital solutions to collaborate and work smarter
  • Drive strategic growth, technical excellence, and innovation in ecological assessments and management planning for projects in transport, water security, energy and future-fuels sectors.

We are looking for someone with a proven knowledge in fauna, flora, ecological communities, and ecosystems, with a focus on Queensland regions like the Brigalow Belt, North Queensland, and SEQ Bioregions. Experience in navigating State and Commonwealth environmental approval processes and delivering strategic assessments is highly desired.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven knowledge in fauna, flora, ecological communities, and ecosystems
  • Ability to lead project delivery, engage with clients, and mentor a high-performing team
  • Strong experience in navigating State and Commonwealth environmental approval processes
  • Proficiency in tools like GIS, remote sensing, and digital solutions
