Milk Processing Technician

We are seeking a skilled Milk Processing Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for processing and pasteurising milk and dairy products.

The successful candidate must have a strong focus on quality and safety, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Previous experience in machine or process operation, preferably in the food industry, is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Operating pasteurisers, homogenisers, separators and associate equipment to comply with operational and safety standards.
  • Maintaining hygiene and safety standards, including CIP cleaning of all equipment.
  • Ensuring relevant documentation is maintained to pre-set standards, including completing any corrective actions.
  • Accurately completing relevant quality and safety documentation.
  • Formulating milk/dairy products in accordance with specifications.
  • Meeting required processing schedules.
  • Minimising wastage, including product, ingredients, packaging, process inputs, time and chemicals.
  • Reporting excessive wastage, defective products and equipment malfunction;
  • Isolating and identifying defective product.

Requirements:

  • Experience in machine or process operation, preferably in the dairy or food industry.
  • Solid understanding of GMP and HACCP principles.
  • A working knowledge of SAP and CITEC is desirable but not essential.
  • Fault finding/troubleshooting skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work shift work, overtime and weekends as required.
