Academic Lecturer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer to join our team at Deakin University. As a Lecturer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, as well as contributing to the development of innovative curriculum and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other unit teaching teams to develop effective unit curricula and learning resources.
- Contribute to the review of units and courses, and implement refinements to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
- Assist in applying industry, clinical, and research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement, and resources.
- Adopt innovation in curriculum design at the unit level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels and modes of delivery.
- Support and lead applications for research and creative activities, including applications for external competitive funding, external funding for commercialization and translation activities, and other funding demonstrating sustained efforts.
- Initiate, design, conduct, and lead intra and inter-disciplinary research collaborations to enable major breakthroughs in knowledge and understanding and solutions to complex problems.
- Supervise and examine honours and/or HDR students with timely completions and productive, high-quality outcomes, and provide effective mentoring to HDR students to support professional and career development and employability.
- Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a registered nurse.
- Hold a PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
- Have an excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design.
- Have an emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding.
- Be able to contribute to communities through research.
- Have capacity to contribute to leadership of research and administration.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
To be eligible to apply, you must currently be a sessional academic at Deakin or have been previously engaged as a sessional academic at Deakin within the last two years of the advertising date.
