Disability Support Worker

This is a dynamic and person-centred role that empowers people living with a disability through meaningful support and inclusion.

About the Role

We seek passionate and experienced professionals to join our team in supporting NDIS participants in various settings, including centre-based day programs, SIL, drop-in support, personal care, and more.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with behaviours of concern, particularly young people, and delivering trauma-informed and strengths-based support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver active, person-centred support promoting choice, dignity, and independence.
  • Engage participants in daily activities at the centre and in the community.
  • Implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies where required.
  • Provide personal care, manual handling, and medication support as per individual care plans.
  • Support participants to achieve their NDIS goals through tailored skill-building activities.
  • Work collaboratively with families, advocates, and other service providers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow support plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 12 months experience working with people with disability, including those with challenging behaviours.
  • Experience supporting young people with complex needs.
  • A strong understanding of person-centred active support and positive behaviour support practices.
  • Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or relevant field (or working towards).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Working With Children Check.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination.
