Corporate Legal Professional

We are seeking a skilled Corporate Legal Professional to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide with a hybrid working arrangement.

About the Role:
  • Provide corporate legal, commercial, and governance advice to all of our businesses.
  • Review marketing material for compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts.
  • Offer insurance product advice and documentation.
  • Interpret statutes and provide advice on legislative reform impacting our business.
  • Support litigation teams with corporate litigation.
  • Provide legal advice on complaints and potential disputes, including at AFCA.
  • Deliver staff legal training.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications (LLB or equivalent).
  • A current NSW (or other Australian State) Legal Practitioner Practising Certificate – mandatory.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a mid or top-tier firm.
  • Private practice experience in providing commercial legal advice.
  • Previous experience working in an insurance and/or Australian financial services environment – desirable.
  • A pragmatic and commercial focus, including understanding of the general insurance market.
  • Highly developed stakeholder and people management skills.
  • A high level of written and spoken language skills.
