Job Overview

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced HD fitter to join our underground mining team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

The role involves working with latest generation SANDVIK, CAT, and Atlas underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems. Strong knowledge of troubleshooting problems on electric hydraulic drilling equipment is essential, as well as good knowledge of loader and truck maintenance.

As a skilled tradesperson, the ideal candidate will have experience in training less qualified tradespeople to a high standard in a high productivity underground contracting mining environment.

The successful applicant will have at least 5 years post-apprenticeship experience working within the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment. They will also possess excellent service and maintenance skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities.

International Drivers License is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in accordance with procedures, regulations, and relevant service sheets.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop national trades personnel.
  • Utilize skills and experience to minimize downtime on machinery.
  • Ensure correct recording and reporting of maintenance is achieved.
  • Read and interpret Service and Spare parts manuals.
  • Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling into the workshop weekly planning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven track record of safely and effectively maintaining mobile equipment.
  • Strong technical skills, including ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • International Drivers License.
