Job Description

This role requires an experienced network professional with a strong background in telecommunications networking. The successful candidate will work in the operations group, focusing on implementing and maintaining AARNet's IP, MPLS, switched, and optical networks.

The role involves diagnosing complex network faults, restoring services, and managing planned works. It also requires working with customers, other AARNet staff, and third parties to resolve faults and ensure network availability and performance.

The candidate must be able to think critically, solve problems independently, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Occasional on-call duties and travel may be required.

Main Responsibilities
  • Detect and diagnose complex network faults using advanced technical knowledge.
  • Restore services quickly, minimizing disruptions to customers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve faults and improve network performance.
  • Replace faulty equipment according to established procedures.
  • Conduct post-fault analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements and industry standards.
  • Liaise with external partners to resolve faults and optimize network efficiency.
  • Install software updates and implement new services.
