About the RoleThe Match Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth execution of match day operations at all AFLNT venues. This requires a high level of organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure an enjoyable and safe environment for players, coaches, umpires, and spectators.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Game Preparation:
- Coordinate and confirm game day logistics, including field setup, equipment availability, and staffing.
- Ensure compliance with NTFL by-laws & AFLNT rules and regulations.
- Brief security personnel on their roles and responsibilities.
- Facilitate communication between teams, umpires, and officials.
- Game Day Management:
- Oversee the overall match day operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and protocols in line with the NTFL Venue Operations guide.
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints that may arise.
- Monitor player and staff conduct, managing any matters related to codes of conduct and addressing any breaches. This includes liaising with security when managing these matters.
- Manage and report any major incidents or injuries.
- Oversee the operation of timekeeping and scoring systems.
- Post-Game Duties:
- Submit match reports and incident reports to the Football Operations Department.
- Ensure proper closure of facilities and equipment.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Well-developed verbal, written communication, and public relation skills.
- Good computer literacy skills – Microsoft applications.
- Working with children card (Ochre Card).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to quickly establish a rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
- The ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of Australian Rules Football and AFLNT regulations.
- Knowledge of football in the Northern Territory.
- Experience in event management or a related field is preferred.
- First Aid certification is a plus.
