About The Role
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanic to join our dynamic team at Select Plant Australia.
This full-time position will be based out of our modern Malaga Depot, where you will work under the guidance of a collaborative and inclusive team.
Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining, servicing, and repairing a diverse range of civil construction machinery, including excavators, loaders, cranes, telehandlers, power generators, and civil ancillary equipment, catering to both internal and external clients. Tools of trade will be provided.
You will utilise your comprehensive diagnostic skills, commitment to quality control, and adherence to safe work practices to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs across a wide range of plant and equipment.
- Attend onsite maintenance and breakdowns as required, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Prepare accurate service and breakdown reports.
- Identify and requisition necessary parts for repairs.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies.
- Deliver high-quality work that meets OEM and industry standards.
- Adhere to internal and external clients' site entry requirements and rules.
About You
To be considered for this role, you must meet the minimum requirements below:
Essential:
- Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent)
- Australian Driver's Licence - Manual C Class
- Australian Construction Induction Card (Blue/White Card)
- Unrestricted Australian Working Rights
- Minimum 4+ years' experience as a Heavy/Civil Plant Mechanic
- Demonstrated well-rounded diagnostics skills across hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Results-driven attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills
Highly Regarded but not Essential:
- RIW Card
- Higher class of driver's licence (HR, MR, MC)
- Additional mechanical certifications (auto-electrics, air-conditioning, etc)
- Additional plant or high-risk tickets (rigging, dogging, telehandler, EWP)
All candidates will undergo pre-employment medical screening and a national criminal background check.
