We are seeking casual officers to assist with the preparation and deinstallation of artworks and exhibitions.

About Us:

  • Maitland Regional Art Gallery boasts award-winning exhibitions, engaging events, artisan gift shops, and delicious food.
  • The art collection features Australian art from the 1850s to the present day, with a diverse collection rich in historic and archival items, sculpture, and contemporary art.

About the Role:

">
  • Our exhibition officers work closely with our curatorial team, assisting with space preparation, exhibition installation, and deinstallation of a diverse range of artworks and exhibitions at the gallery.
  • The role is responsible for handling a range of artworks, maintaining and mending gallery walls following exhibitions, and creating and assembling basic fixtures and structures for various exhibits.
  • Installation of technical equipment such as lighting and audio-visual components is also a component.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Contemporary industry knowledge
  • Practical skills with experience in general repairs and construction of small structures and supports
  • Experience working in an art gallery or museum is ideal

Benefits:

  • Casual positions available working up to 35 hours per week
  • Base rate of $38.50 per hour, based on experience + casual loading + shift allowances where applicable
  • 12% p.a. superannuation
