Family Violence Program Overview
About the RoleThe Family Violence Team provides advocacy, referral and support to Aboriginal women and their children who are experiencing family violence. A range of support options are available that may include short-, medium- and long-term casework.
This position will support the team with key functions of the program.
About You- Commitment to and understanding of values underpinning our vision and purpose
- Awareness and understanding of family violence issues and impacts on women, children and families in an Aboriginal context
- Knowledge of Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and Comprehensive (Level 1) understanding of MARAM framework
Prior experience in Family Violence sector and administrative tasks is highly regarded. Demonstrated competencies in application and use of Microsoft Word applications and other data systems are essential. Interpersonal skills, sound verbal and written communication skills are required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or related discipline
- Full Victorian Driver's Licence
- Current employment Working with Children Check card and clear National Police Check
- Current COVID-19 vaccinations
- Supportive environment including comprehensive induction
