Financial Reporting Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to oversee the preparation and review of project financial reports.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly project reports, including Contract Status Reviews, Business Unit Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, Project Status Reports, Project Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows, and Work in Progress management.

The role involves reviewing variance reporting versus prior forecasts and budgets, and preparing and reviewing project reconciliations. Additionally, the candidate will improve financial reporting processes for the project, partner with stakeholders to coordinate finance inputs into the monthly Estimate at Completion process, manage Foreign Exposure and hedging to minimize FX exposure, operate, maintain, and improve budgeting and forecasting processes for the project, review fortnightly Cash Flow forecasts, and oversee project billing.

The Financial Reporting Specialist will also ensure compliance with corporate guidelines, policies, and procedures as well as accounting standards and legislation.

  • A degree qualification and professional CA, CIMA, or CPA qualification is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in a finance-related role is essential.
  • Collaborative work style with internal stakeholders and the broader finance team is necessary.
  • Self-management skills and ability to work independently are key requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.
  • High literacy and numeracy skills are expected.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are required.
  • Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS is essential.
