Fruit Farm Worker Position

Position: Fruit Farm Worker

Location: Mareeba QLD 4880

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Fruit Farm Worker. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilize your knowledge of fruit farming, and contribute to the success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring trees receive adequate water supply through regular checks on irrigation channels
  • Maintaining soil fertility by applying relevant fertilizers and pruning trees as required
  • Applying chemicals or pesticides to prevent weeds, disease, or pest damage to trees
  • Planting new trees using appropriate tools or machinery under the guidance of the farm manager
  • Performing other tasks as directed by the farm manager to ensure optimal tree growth and soil conditions
  • Assisting with harvesting ripe fruits during peak periods when necessary
Qualifications and Skills:
  • AQF Certificate III or higher qualification in a relevant field
  • At least one year of experience as a Fruit Farm Worker
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet required standards
  • Familiarity with pack shed operations and quality assurance is highly desirable
  • Previous experience working in lime orchards is also advantageous
  • Proficiency in operating farm machinery such as forklifts, tractors, and sprayers is highly regarded
  • A valid driver's license and own transport are essential
